Category: Inside Circuits Views: 341 Rank: 10 A triac controller for switching resistive loads directly from the mains supply using the zero crossing technique. The device is powered directly from the mains via a diode and dropper resistor, and the IC has its own regulator to limit its supply to 9.25V. To ensure that no switching occurs outside of the zero crossing point, full wave logic is employed to guarantee that complete mains cycles only are switched to the load. A ramp a freely selectable ramp duration (as determined by a timing capacitor),together with the full-wave logic block, synchronised to the AC supply at pin 8 via a dropper resistor (RSync). The ramp generator not only provides symmetrical trigger pulse c Datasheet file1: Click here to download U217B.pdf datasheet.
Related circuits Triac relay-contact protection This circuit can be used to prevent relay contact arcing for loads up to 50 amperes. There is some delay between the time a relay coil is energized and the time the contacts close. There is also a delay between the time the coil is de-energized and the time the contacts open. For the relay used... Triangle-Wave Generator Circuit This is a simple triangle-wave generator using two IC devices and a transistor. The triangle wave is used as feedback to the square-wave generator. SI allows range switching in three ranges from 100 Hz to 100 kHz. This circuit enables transistorized items such as radio, cassettes, and other electrical devices to be operated from a car"s electrical supply. The table gives values for resistors and specified diode types fordifferent voltage. Should more than one voltage be required a switching arrangement... The circuit is quick and easy to put together and install, and tells you when battery voltage falls below the set limit as established by Rl (a 10,000-ohm potentiometer). It can indicate, via LED 1, that the battery may be defective or in need of change if operating the starter causes the battery... A relaxation oscillator is used to flash an LED in the base circuit. Cl is charged slowly through R1 by the power source, then discharged periodically through R3 and the LED by the UJT. This astable will trigger itself and run free as a multivibrator. The external capacitor charges through RA and RB and discharges through R8 only. Thus, the duty cycle is set by the ratio of these two resistors, and the capacitor charges and discharges between 1/3 Vs and 2/3 Vs. 400V-60W push-pull DC-DC converter The TL494 switching regulator governs the operating frequency and regulates output voltage. Switching frequency approximately 100 kHz for the values shown An exclusive-OR gate, IClD, turns a simple CMOS oscillator into an FSK generator. When the data input increases, IClD inverts, and negative feedback through R2 lowers the circuit"s output frequency. A low input results in positive feedback and a higher output frequency. Rl and C set the...
