The circuit in Figure 1 uses a PIC16C55 µP to read 10-bit binary data and directly display the data in decimal format on three common -cathode LED displays. If value of the data exceeds 999, the displays show three hyphens (---) to represent overflow. The PIC16C55 has high drive capability. Each output pin can source 20 mA and sink 25 mA; the outputs can thus directly drive the LED display. visit page.

Here is a low-cost circuit of Christmas star that can be easily constructed even by a novice. The main advantage of this circuit is that it doesnt require any step-down transformer or ICs. Components like resistors R1 and R2, capacitors C1, C2, and C3, diodes D1 and D2, and zener ZD1 are...

ZXSC100 single cell DC-DC converter LED driving

There are two principle ways of driving LEDs, either continuously or using a pulsed current. A pulsed current is preferred because energy is conserved and the LEDs can appear brighter. By applying pulses, higher current can be driven safely into the LED. Even if the average current is the...

12v LED Light

This circuit makes a nice lamp that consumes little power, runs cool, and has an incredibly long lifetime. The lamp puts out a warm yellow shade of light, the color may be adjusted by changing the number of red or green LED strings. Operating Voltage: 12V DC Operating Current: 80ma approx.

Single FET controls LED array

The circuit`s 90% conversion efficiency offers a distinct power-saving advantage over resistor-limited and linearly regulated designs. It might appear that a series-LED connection is unsuitable for applications in which some (but not all) LEDs must be off. A cell phone, for example, sometimes...

Three-year-led-flasher

Inserting two 1-MO resistors, R1 and R2, in the output stage of one of the circuit"s inverters limits the current needed by the oscillator tone more than a few pA. This circuit includes a CD4007 package, which has three CMOS inverters. It forms a standard three-inverter oscillator. Resistors R1...

Simplified white-LED flasher

The white-LED flasher in Figure 1 offers an alternative approach to a previously published idea (Reference 1). Targeting use in portable appliances and products powered by a single cell, this circuit flashes an LED to provide a highly visible warning signalfor example, to indicate power on,...
