This new stereo FM Micromitter is capable of broadcasting good quality signals over a range of about 20 metres. It`s ideal for broadcasting music from a CD player or from any other source so that it can be picked up in another location. Because it`s based on a single IC, this unit is a snack to build and fits easily into a small plastic utility box. It broadcasts on the FM band (ie, 88-108MHz) so that its signal can be received on any standard FM tuner or portable radio. However, unlike previous FM transmitters published in SILICON CHIP, this new design is not continuously variable over the FM broadcast band. Instead, a 4-way DIP switch is used to select one of 14 preset frequencies. These are available in two ranges covering from 87.7-88.9MHz and 106.7-107.9MHz in 0.2MHz steps. We first published an FM stereo transmitter in SILICON CHIP in October 1988 and followed this up with a new version in April 2001. Dubbed the Minimitter, these earlier versions were based on the popular Rohm BA1404 IC which is not being produced any more. visit page.

FM Transmitter

Here is the schematic, PC board pattern, and parts placement for a low powered FM transmitter. The range of the transmitter when running at 9V is about 300 feet. Running it from 12V increases the range to about 400 feet. This transmitter should not be used as a room or telephone bug.

4 Transistor Transmitter

This circuit provides an FM modulated signal with an output power of around 500mW. The input Mic preamp is built around a couple of 2N3904 transistors, audio gain limited by the 5k preset. The oscillator is a colpitts stage, frequency of oscillation governed by the tank circuit made from two...

Single Chip FM Transmitter

A simple FM transmitter links your home-entertainment system to a portable radio that can be carried around the house and into the back yard. For example, you can play music on the CD changer in your living room, and listen to it on a portable radio by the back-yard barbeque.

The transmitter was designed specifically for use by radio amateurs as a radio beacon. As such, it provides a good-quality

Tracking Transmitter Circuit

This tracking transmitter consists of four distinct subassemblies; a free-running multivibrator, a transmit switch, an audio-tone generator, and an FM transmitter. The multivibrator (which produces a pulse width with a pulse separation of 1500 ms) is built around Ql and Q2. The multivibrator...

Ql amplifies the output from an electret microphone MIC1. Audio is fed into oscillator Q2, which modulates the signal.

400mW FM Bug

Power supply: 12-14 V stab., 100 mA. RF power: 400 mW. Impedance: 50-75 ohm. Frequency range: 87,5-108 MHz. Modulation: wideband FM. Connect the 6 V / 0,1 A bulb to the output and use R1 to tune the right frequency. Maybe you might stretch coils of the L1. Then use C14 and C15 to adjust the...
