Category: Sensors Detectors / Liquid Sensing Circuits This circuit is also crossed to: PIC Microcontroller , Power Control , Motor Control Circuits Views: 1378 Rank: 0 I found some similar circuits but aren't good enough for me. Some circuits measure the water's resistance to determine the level. That is dangerous for drinking water (contamination) or explosive liquids because electricity is in contact with water. The Pressure sensor have a tube. The tube end on the botton of the tank. When the liquid fill the tank, the pressure inside the tube increase. The 12F675 have A/D converters. The PIC measure the pressure and light up the led corresponding to the liquid level. Green LED = Full, Yellow = Half, Red = Almost Empty. When the tank is completely empty, It turn on the Water pump or activate the buzzer. Before using the circuit, you have to calibrate it. First, start filling the thank (just one or two inches) and press the switch on the RED led (Empty). Fill the thank to the half and press the switch on the YELLOW led. Finally, when the tank is full, press the swith on the GREEN led. The water pump will stop. When the tank is almost empty the PIC will turn on the pump until the liquiq level reach the top. USE ANY RESISTIVE PRESSURE SENSOR, JUST CHECK THE SENSOR WORKS WITH 5 Volts. Update: I found that washer machines uses this method to determine the water level, however, the pressure sensor in a washer machine is not a resistive one, is just a switch. visit page. Related circuits Piezo crystal monitors liquid level The simple and inexpensive circuit in Figure 1 monitors the liquid level in a container. The piezo crystal, carefully mounted at the bottom surface of the container, receives it activation from the 74HCT14 hex Schmitt trigger. The crystal generates stable clock pulses according to its... Moisture detector with pump controller This moisture detector with pump controller is built around the special purpose LM1830 IC. The LM1830 is designed to detect moisture by passing an AC current through a set of probes. An internal comparator compares the resistance of the probes to an internal reference. When the resistance between... A balanced Wheatstone bridge controls a JK flip-flop that uses an op amp as an interface. This in turn drives a relay When the 14B-12B pair opens, 12B is connected to Al's summing point via 13B. The sensor now discharges into the summing point through the 1 µ capacitor. Since the charge voltage is fixed, the average current into the summing point is determined by the sensor's humidity related value. The 1... This circuit gives out an alarm when its sensor is wetted by water. A 555 astable multivibrator is used here which gives a tone of about 1kHz upon detecting water. The sensor when wetted by water completes the circuit and makes the 555 oscillate at about 1kHz. The sensor is also shown in the... In his circuit Marin has used two transistors wired as a high gain compound pair. Transistor T1 may be a 2N2222A and T2 a BC108. The current gain will be the product of each transistors beta, which will be a minimum of 140 x 110 or 15400. The power supply used can be any voltage from 4.5 to 15... When the soil is moist, the LED glows. If the moisture falls below a certain predetermined level, the LED begins to flash. If there is still less moisture, the LED turns off. To calibrate, connect the battery and insert the probe into a container of dry soil. Set R1 to its maximum value then... Save fuel bills and the economy of the planet with this circuit. SW1 is a normally open press button switch which allows you to view the level of hot water in a hot water tank. When pressed the voltage difference at the junction of the thermistor and preset is compared to the fixed voltage on the...
