A power supply is desired that is adjustable for constant voltage (CV) between 0-30V and also adjustable for constant current (CC). Various circuits for CV have been found, but further information is needed.

To design an adjustable power supply capable of providing a constant voltage output from 0 to 30V and a constant current feature, a comprehensive approach is required. The circuit typically incorporates a voltage regulator IC, such as the LM317 or a similar adjustable linear regulator, which can provide a variable output voltage. The output voltage can be adjusted using a potentiometer connected to the feedback pin of the regulator.

For the constant current functionality, a current sensing resistor is placed in series with the load. The voltage across this resistor is monitored and fed back to the regulator's control loop. When the current exceeds a predetermined threshold, the regulator reduces the output voltage to maintain the current at the desired level. This can be achieved by using an op-amp configured as a comparator, which compares the voltage across the sense resistor with a reference voltage set by another potentiometer.

The power supply circuit would also require adequate heat sinking for the voltage regulator to dissipate heat effectively, especially at higher output currents. Additionally, input and output capacitors should be included to stabilize the voltage levels and minimize noise.

Protection features such as over-voltage protection (OVP) and over-current protection (OCP) should also be integrated into the design to safeguard both the power supply and the connected load. A digital voltmeter and ammeter can be incorporated into the output to provide real-time feedback of the voltage and current levels, enhancing usability.

Overall, the combination of adjustable voltage and current capabilities makes this power supply versatile for various applications, including testing, prototyping, and powering electronic circuits.I am now looking to make a power supply adjustable cv 0-30v and would really like it to be adjustable cc as well. I have found various circuits for Cv, but very .. 🔗 External reference
