It can often produce a passable mock stereo sound to bring some depth to otherwise flat recordings. 2 watt Stereo audio amplifier

A general purpose audio power amplifier is a must have for the electronics amateur. It's not a good thing to use your HiFi set for an experiment, when there's a risk of blowing it's transistor out. Amplifier for your experiments should be simple in construction, durable, and easy to repair. Also a portable, low power consumpting, battery operateable one will be suitable. Taking the considerations above, I gave you the PCB design for the TBA820M based amplifier. It is rated for 2Watts of RMS power output (16W PMPO) but gives even two times more if you cool it well by some tricks. I've been using this circuit for over ten years and personally still surprised by it's durability, thinking of how many short circuits and overdrives it is subjected...

The preamp featured is very straightforward to make on the PCB, and has an innovative tone defeat function. Rather than completely disable the tone controls, they are massively de-sensitised, and when "defeated" have a maximum range as shown in Fig. 3 (below). This can be increased if desired, so you can have two tone control settings, one with the normal 10dB boost and cut, and the other with a very subtle 3dB boost and cut - this will be enough (surprisingly) for very minor adjustments such as you might need for day-to-day listening...

4x15Watt 12volt power audio amplifier

While I would have liked a 4 channel chip with about 20 Watt per channel, the local parts store didn't have any yet, so I opted for two TA8215AH stereo chips, selected by their low price in this particular store. The design? Oh well, there isn't much to it. The circuit I used is almost an exact copy of the circuit suggested in the Toshiba data sheet. I only made a very few changes, but including an important one - the one that makes it possible to use this circuit in a computer, without getting power supply and hard disk noise!
