Reference designs for Series 1 FPGA Boards
ZTEX USB-FPGA Boards require three different voltages: 1.2V, 2.5V-2.6V, and 3.3V, which must be supplied externally. This can be achieved using Power Supply Modules, Experimental Boards, or a user-specific design. To facilitate development in the latter scenario, three reference power...
interfacing relay with spartan 6 fpga
The Spartan-6 board features onboard 5V relay interfacing, as illustrated in the accompanying figure. The ULN2803 serves as a driver for the FPGA I/O lines, with the driver's outputs connected to the relay modules. A PTB connector is provided for...
interfacing 2x16 lcd with spartan 6 fpga
The Spartan-6 board features a 2x16 LCD, as illustrated in the accompanying figure. This 2x16 character LCD interface card supports both 4-bit and 8-bit modes, and it includes a facility for contrast adjustment via a trim potentiometer. In the 8-bit...
FPGA / CPLD 16x2 LCD Interface Circuit
The schematic for this project is a modified version of the CPLD development board schematic. Several new components have been added for this project, and the completed schematic is presented below. The primary components in the schematic include the CPLD...
development and evaluation for FPGA based systems
The System Monitor feature discussed in this article was successfully utilized by Avalon Microelectronics in two Virtex-5 FPGAs (XC5VLX330T) during their development. They encountered an unusual issue where the development board would shut down while the FPGAs were executing certain...
AirBorn Electronics project
Embedded system design engineers create examples of their work from the 1990s era.
Embedded systems have evolved significantly since the 1990s, and the design work from that period reflects the technological limitations and innovations of the time. Engineers in this field...
Downlink Project Description
The Skeyeball project is an ongoing initiative within the Indiana University System Design Methods Laboratory, aimed at providing graduate and undergraduate students with opportunities to engage in embedded system design and implement various projects. The downlink segment of the project...
Leveraging FPGA and CPLD digital logic to implement analog to digital converters
Designers of digital systems are familiar with implementing the remnants of their digital design by using FPGAs and CPLDs to connect various processors, memories, and standard function components on their printed circuit board. In addition to these digital functions, FPGAs...
Electronics Engineering Herald - online magazine of electronics -home
Embedded systems serve as the core of most electronics-based systems, enabling data access, processing, storage, and control. While some simple electronic circuits can be designed without a microprocessor or microcontroller, this approach is often economically impractical, except for basic passive...
