PC terminal using a TV
|
When you use microcontrollers in your designs, sometime you face a problem how to show user required data. Several LEDs, 7 segment display or LCD module can be solution. But if you must show a lot of information simultaneously, it can be difficulty. Large LCD modules are expensive and graphic modules require complicated control. You can solve it with a help of PC. Just send data via serial line to the computer and display everything on computer's display. I have had to solve the same problem some time ago. I have chosen normal small TV set for that. A lot of families change TV in this time because of digital broadcasting or modern flat and slim LCD and plasma displays. So they put older TV set away and it is dormant somewhere. Or you can buy older TV very cheap...

VGA to TV Scart converter circuit
|
This VGA to TV converter is designed to connect VGA card to a television which has suitable 21-pin AV connector for RGB input (called EURO/SCART/Peritel connector). if you Tv does not have this kind of connector, then you can't use this circuit. The method used in the circuit maximizes the picture quality and resolution shown in TV screen. The mothod does not make it possible to have any kind of flicker removing filtering. The advantages of the design are simplicity and superior image resolution compared to many commercial designs...

VGA to PAL / NTSC converter schematic
|
This is my VGA to TV circuit I have designed at 1996 for one one company I worked for. Since this design is no longer in production and my agreement has ended, I ma free to publish the details on the web. Power supply: Regulated +5V power supply, needs less than 300 mA. Video input: R G B + HSYNC + VSYNC from VGA card, refresh rate compatible to PAL or NTSC standards. Video outputs: Composite video and S-video (Y/C). Video standards supported: PAL B,G,H and NTSC M. The circuit needs that the VGA card sends out the video signal the the RGB format compatible with PAL or NTSC standard video timings. This is accomplished with right VGA to TV driver...

Video title generator
|
Want to add video to your next project? This device uses a PIC16F819 and not much else. Getting 20 characters to a line is possible by using the SPI port to generate video. Neat trick, eh? The character set is limited to upper case and a few punctuation marks and uses a 'folded data table' to store the image data in the space available. Input to the device is via 9600 baud RS-232 directly from a computer com port. Since this device was designed as a status display, data is placed on the screen by sending a decimal number to designate the screen location followed by up to 20 characters of text and a carriage return. This allows individual portions of the screen to be updated without disturbing the rest of the screen display...

TV-tuner receiver
|
The MC13136 circuit is not easy to find so I have replaced it with a new receiver circuit called SA615.
This is a basic FM receiver with very good performance and sensitivity.
In my super receiver I used a DDS to fine tune the receiver, but in this project
I replaced it with a PLL synthesizer. I have decided the oscillator frequency of the FM receiver to be 38.9MHz.
See figure at right. This FM receiver has an IF frequency of 455kHz and that means it will receive RF signal at 38.9MHz ±455kHz. That means two places.
One reception will be at 38.445MHz and the other will be at 39.335MHz...

Composite Video titling Generator
|
The VTG-01 is designed to display user defined text over a composite video signal. This is useful in a multitude of different applications such as adding titles to home movies and adding custom text to security videos. Text can be displayed in different sizes almost anywhere on the screen. Text entry and editing is done by way of a standard IBM AT keyboard. Features : Lowest possible cost. Completely standalone, only an IBM AT keyboard, no computer required. Compact size 120mm x 60mm x 30mm (PCB only - 90mm x 48mm). Powered from a single 9-15V DC (300mA) power source (2.1mm DC socket). ..

Many times we needed to strengthen a small signal in the region of VHF or FM. The preamplifier that to you we propose offers 20dB in all the region of VHF and it still can reach also their 500MHZ. The amplifier is a circuit of high frequency RF with distinguishable materials. The amplifier as circuit strengthens the tendency of signal with concrete aid, depending on the frequency of signal...

This circuit is a RF modulator which can be used for modulating of video signals. The P1 controls the Light and the P2 controls the contrast of video signal. The RF modulated output signal can be received on the VHF band ( about 189 MHz ). Note that the circuit don't modulate the audio signal of the pictures. ..

The circuit presented here is a simple audio/video transmitter with a range of 3 to 5 metres. The A/V signal source for the circuit may be a VCR, a satellite receiver or a video game etc. A mixer which also operates as an oscillator at VHF (H) channel 5 TV frequency is amplitude modulated by video signal and mixed with frequency mo enna, contains video carrier frequency of 175.25 Mhz and audio carrier frequency of 180.75 Mhz. Then, the transmitter is a B-System of CCIR compatible. ..

This circuit is a powerful video sender in VHF band. The modulator section is designed to operate on either channels 7 to 13 or 14 to 29. For channels 7 to 13, L1 and L2 are 3 turns of #22 wire wound on a 3/16 inch form. For channels 14 to 29, L1 and L2 are 2 turns of #22 wire wound on a 3/16 inch form. Video signal is modulated as AM. ..
