Pressure Zone Microphone (PZM) Modifications
After attempting to use this reportedly "pretty good" microphone in a variety of situations with some "pretty bad" results, I dissected the power supply and found the same audio transformer that`s in their 180-in-one project kits! This DAT-Heads Digest article set me straight, from this, I culled a list of things I`d like to do to the microphone:
Novel Buzzer
This novel buzzer circuit uses a relay in series with a small audio transformer and speaker. When the switch is pressed, the relay will operate via the transformer primary and closed relay contact. As soon as the relay operates the normally closed contact will open, removing power from the relay, the contacts close and the sequence repeats, all very quickly...so fast that the pulse of current causes fluctuations in the transformer primary, and hence secondary.

Electronic Canary
Reverse engineered circuit diagram of a commercial Electronic Bird. This one was built into a plastic christmas ornament and runs off a 9V battery. Note that L1 is actually just an audio transformer with an unused secondary winding.
Zener Diode Tester
Using a single 555 Timer IC and a small transformer to generate a high voltage, this circuit will test zener diodes of voltage ratings up to 50VDC. The 555 timer is used in the astable mode, the output at pin3 drives a small audio transformer such as the LT700. This has a primary impedance of 1K and a secondary impedance of 8 ohms. Used in reverse the unloaded ac voltage is around 120volts ac.
5000 Volts arc supply
A Very Low Current, High Voltage Spark, that is "Manually Triggered". Although its not easily Measured, the Peak Ouput voltage will be over 5,000 Volts. T1 is a small audio transformer and it steps up the voltage to about 500 Volts at Point "X" on the schematic. The main power limitation to this device is T2. It can be a Standard Trigger Coil, like those used on Strobe Kits, or a Custom made Trigger Coil. For A Custom coil, You can wind one Simular to those in my Stun Gun Write-ups. Which-Ever Coil you use for T2, If you try for Too long of an Arc, It will Arc Internally, Permanently Shorting itself Out. So Start with a Small Arc and Slowly Increase it to try and find the Maximum Distance. Than Reduce it Slightly to give a small Safety Margin.
Infrared Audio TX/RX
Using this low-cost project one can reproduce audio from TV without disturbing others. It does not use any wire connection between TV and headphones. In place of a pair of wires, it uses invisible infrared light to transmit audio signals from TV to headphones. Without using any lens, a range of up to 6 metres is possible. Range can be extended by using lenses and reflectors with IR sensors comprising transmitters and receivers. IR transmitter uses two-stage transistor amplifier to drive two series-connected IR LEDs. An audio output transformer is used (in reverse) to couple audio output from TV to the IR transmitter. Transistors T1 and T2 amplify the audio signals received from TV through the audio transformer.
Audio isolation transformer
If you want to build one yourself, you have to get two audio transformers which have 1:1 transformation ratio and greater than 1 kohm impedance. There are high quality audio transformers in the markes that meet those specs, but those can be quite expensive. Another option it to use 600:600 ohm isolation transformers widely available for telecommunications and other uses. Those are not that high quality as good audio transformers, but can be well adequate for many not so demanding multimedia applications like computer audio if suitable transformer is selected.
Bridge circuit
The transistor is connected as an audio oscillator, using an audio transformer in the collector. The secondary goes to a linear pot.
